Navarasa is a fine-tuned model based on Google's Gemma, designed specifically for Indic languages. This was built to make large language models culturally rooted, allowing people to converse in their native language and receive responses in the same language. Additionally, this model supports languages like Telugu, Hindi, and others, reflecting India's linguistic diversity. [15]

The open-source nature of Gemma has enabled rapid advancements. Within weeks of its release, companies like Navarasa launched even more advanced models using nine Indian languages. It was amazing to see the day that Gemma was launched as an open model, and a couple of weeks later, companies like Navarasa launched an even more advanced model using nine Indian languages and fine-tuned Gemma to release it to the world.
